(a) Upon written request of the board of supervisors of the conservation district or districts involved, with a showing that the request is approved by a majority vote of the members of each board involved the commission may, by administrative order: (i) Transfer lands from one district to another; (ii) Divide a single district into two (2) or more districts, each of which shall thereafter operate as a separate district; or (iii) Consolidate two (2) or more districts to operate thereafter as a single district. (b) The secretary of state shall make and issue a corrected certificate of organization upon receipt of such certification from the commission. (c) Petitions for a change in the name of a conservation district may be submitted to the commission by the board of supervisors of a conservation district. If the commission approves the change of name, it shall certify the change to the secretary of state and shall notify the board of supervisors of the conservation district of the change, setting out in the notice the new name of the district.
