11-16-115. Districts; transfer of land; division or consolidation; change in name. (a) Upon written request of the board of supervisors of the conservation district or districts involved, with a showing that the request is approved by a majority vote of the members of each board involved the commission may, by administrative order: (i) Transfer lands from one district to another; (ii) Divide a single district into two (2) or more districts, each of which shall thereafter operate as a separate district; or (iii) Consolidate two (2) or more districts to operate thereafter as a single district. (b) The secretary of state shall make and issue a corrected certificate of organization upon receipt of such certification from the commission. (c) Petitions for a change in the name of a conservation district may be submitted to the commission by the board of supervisors of a conservation district.
