Section 15-5-102 - Establishment of Civil Service Commission or Personnel System

15-5-102. Establishment of civil service commission or personnel system. (a) There is established a fire department civil service commission in each incorporated municipality maintaining a paid fire department and having a population of four thousand (4,000) or more. (b) The governing body in each incorporated municipality maintaining a paid police department and having a population of four thousand (4,000) or more which has not established a civil service commission may establish a police department personnel system in a manner as the governing body determines.
