Section 21-6-214 - City or Town to Be All in One District; District May Include Other Territory

21-6-214. City or town to be all in one district; district may include other territory. Whenever the district boundary board organizes or reorganizes a school district or changes the boundaries of existing districts, the organization, reorganization or change shall be made so as to keep all territory embraced in any incorporated city or town in one (1) school district. A district boundary board may include in any school district territory not within such corporate boundaries. District boundary boards are hereby authorized to change the boundaries of any school district or districts so that all the territory embraced in a corporate city or town shall be in one (1) district.

21-6-214. City or town to be all in one district; district may include other territory. Whenever the district boundary board organizes or reorganizes a school district or changes the boundaries of existing districts, the organization, reorganization or change shall be made so as to keep all territory embraced in any incorporated city or town in one (1) school district. A district boundary board may include in any school district territory not within such corporate boundaries. District boundary boards are hereby authorized to change the boundaries of any school district or districts so that all the territory embraced in a corporate city or town shall be in one (1) district.
