Section 40-26-125 - Reasonable Cause Determination

40-26-125. Reasonable cause determination. (a) The enforcing authority shall determine from the facts whether reasonable cause exists to believe that a discriminatory housing practice has occurred or is about to occur. The enforcing authority shall make this determination not later than the one hundredth day after the date a complaint is filed unless making the determination is impracticable, or the enforcing authority approves a conciliation agreement relating to the complaint. (b) If making the determination within the period is impracticable, the enforcing authority shall give in writing to the complainant and the respondent the reasons for the delay. If the enforcing authority determines that reasonable cause exists to believe that a discriminatory housing practice has occurred or is about to occur, the enforcing authority shall, except as provided by W.S. 40-26-127, immediately issue a charge on behalf of the aggrieved person.
