5-9-105. Extending jurisdiction to try misdemeanors committed in violation of city or town ordinances. The governing body of any city or town situate within a judicial district in which a circuit court is established may petition the supreme court to extend the jurisdiction of the circuit court to determine and try all persons charged with violation of the ordinances of the city or town. The contribution that the city or town will make toward the expenses of the circuit court whose jurisdiction includes enforcing the ordinances of the city or town shall be set and paid as provided by written contract of the circuit judges and the governing board of the city or town involved, with the approval of the supreme court.
