6-3-613. False representations of value of shares, bonds or property; penalties. A person who knowingly and with intent to defraud makes or publishes, or permits to be made or published, any publication of or concerning the affairs, financial condition or property of a person which contains a statement which is false, exaggerated, or intended to give a less or greater value to the shares, bonds or property of the person than the shares, bonds or property in fact possess is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than five (5) years, a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), or both.
