Section 6-5-116 - Public Officer Acting Before Qualifying; Penalty

6-5-116. Public officer acting before qualifying; penalty. An elected or appointed public officer or his deputy commits a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) if he performs any duty of his office without taking and subscribing the oath prescribed by law or before giving and filing the bond required by law. This section shall not apply to training and similar minor preparation for taking office.
