Section 6-5-307 - Usurpation; Penalties

6-5-307. Usurpation; penalties. A person is guilty of usurpation if he falsely represents himself to be a public servant with the intent to induce anyone to submit to the pretended official authority or to act in reliance upon the pretense to his detriment. Usurpation is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not to exceed six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or both.
