7-3-902. Definitions. (a) When used in this act, unless the context requires otherwise, the following definitions apply: (i) 'Law enforcement agency' means a lawfully established federal, state or local public agency that is responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the enforcement of penal, traffic, regulatory or criminal laws; (ii) 'Law enforcement agency of an adjoining state' includes a law enforcement agency of an adjoining state and any political subdivision of that state; (iii) 'Law enforcement employee of an adjoining state' means an employee of a law enforcement agency trained and certified in accordance with the laws of the state or jurisdiction where regularly employed by the United States, an adjoining state or political subdivision; (iv) 'Mutual aid agreement' or 'an agreement' means an agreement between two (2) or more law enforcement agencies consistent with the purposes of this act; (v) 'Party law enforcement agency' means a law enforcement agency that is a party to a mutual aid agreement as set forth in this act; (vi) 'Wyoming law enforcement agency' includes a sheriff, municipal, college or university police force, Wyoming highway patrol and the is a party to a mutual aid agreement as set forth in this act; (vi) 'Wyoming law enforcement agency' includes a sheriff, municipal, college or university police force, Wyoming highway patrol and the division of criminal investigation; (vii) 'Wyoming law enforcement employee' has the same meaning as 'peace officer' as defined in W.S. 7-2-101 but does not include those officers specified in W.S. 7-2-101(a)(iv)(K); (viii) 'This act' means W.S. 7-3-901 through 7-3-910.
