9-1-205. Authority of governor or legislature to require information from officers, commissions or boards; right of access to state offices for purpose of inspection. (a) The governor or either house of the legislature may require any state officer, commission or board of a state institution to communicate in writing any information concerning any subject pertaining to the office, commission or board. (b) The governor shall have free access to the office of any state officer for the inspection and examination of all books, papers, records and proceedings.
