9-1-706. Certification without compliance with requirements of W.S. 9-1-704; applicability of civil service provisions. (a) Any person who has been employed on a permanent basis as a peace officer for ten (10) consecutive years prior to July 1, 1973, and who is currently employed as a peace officer, shall be certified as a peace officer by the director without having complied with W.S. 9-1-704(b) and (c). (b) Repealed by Laws 1989, ch. 142, 2. (c) Nothing in this act shall be construed to except any peace officer from the provisions or requirements of civil service. (d) An employing agency may establish qualifications and standards for hiring and training that exceed the minimum set by the commission.
